The Novel Coronavirus infection continues to rise with everyday spike in cases. 

From initial 10,000 cases in 24 hours, India started reporting 20,000 cases of Novel Coronavirus everyday.

On the 29th of June, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed 19,459 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus.

On the 28th of June, the Nation recorded a spike of approximately 20,000 new cases.

With these updates, India has 5,48,318 positive cases of the infection.

Out of the total, 2,10,120 active cases, 3,21,723 cured/discharged/migrated and 16,475 deaths.

Till the 27th of June, cases stood at a total of 5,08,953 cases. In just 2 days, India recorded nearly 40,000 cases.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) released a report according to which India tested as many as 1,70,560 samples on the 28th of June, whereas till the 28th of June, 83,98,362 samples have been tested.

Despite the recovery rate which is 58.56 % at present, the Novel Coronavirus cases crossed 5.48 lakhs.

The Union Health Ministry also confirmed 1,036 labs were designated for COVID-19. Out of the total, 749 are Government run hospitals or labs, whereas 287 are private labs in India.

Out of all Indian states and union territories, Maharashtra recorded the highest number of the Novel Coronavirus infections.

Maharashtra has a total of 1,64,626 cases, followed by Delhi 83,007 and Tamil Nadu 82,275.

Other States with cases more than 10,000 are:

Gujarat (31,397,) Uttar Pradesh (22,147,) Rajasthan (17,271,) West Bengal (17,283,) Haryana (13,829,) Madhya Pradesh (13,186,) Telangana (14,419) Andhra Pradesh (13,098) and Karnataka (13,190.)
