Covid-19 Updates: India Reports 25,000 Plus Fresh Cases, Total Crosses 7.50 Lakhs

India recorded a fresh spike in the cases of the Novel Coronavirus.  In the last 24 hours, India recorded its biggest single day spike  till date, 25,530 fresh cases of the COVID-19 infection.

Since the deadly virus broke out in India, first time, India reported a single spike of over 25,000 cases.

With these updates, India recorded 7,67,296 positive cases with death toll 21,129.

Of the total, 2,69,789 are active cases, 4,76,378 people are cured/discharged cases. 

Despite improving recovery rate at 62%, everyday increase in cases is a concern of worry to the Central Government and state governments.

Recently, in regard to the increasing number of cases, the West Bengal Government announced strict lockdown, starting from 5:00 P.M., the 9th of July.  

The Madhya Pradesh Government also announced lockdown and curfews on Sundays to avoid the spread of the virus. The Bihar Government also decided to impose strict lockdown in a few regions, where the number of the Novel Coronavirus cases are increasing. 

The Telangana Government is also mulling over a two weeks lockdown in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) one of the hotspots for the spread of the deadly infection.

Besides Maharashtra continues to be the worst COVID-19 hit State, Tamil Nadu, Delhi are also becoming the worst Coronavirus hit regions of India.

Maharashtra has 2,23,724 cases of the COVID-19 infection, Tamil Nadu has 1,22,350 cases and Delhi has 1,04,864 cases. 

Out of the total, 7,67,296, more than 50% cases are from Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu. 

Meanwhile, human trials for recently made Covaxin, a potential vaccine for the Novel Coronavirus infection began. 

Bharat Biotech private limited, a Hyderabad based pharma company along with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) started the trials. 

Approximately 200 people from Andhra Pradesh volunteered themselves for the trials, which is expected to be done by the end of the July. 

The ICMR set a deadline of the 15th of August for the clinical human trials, as the Central Government plans to launch the vaccine on the Independence Day, the 15th of August.

However, an official announcement regarding the launch would be made after the successful trials. 

Meanwhile, globally the deadly virus infected as many as 12,170,408 people and claimed 552,112 lives till the 9th of July.
