Dada J. P. Vaswani the spiritual leader of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission passed away at the age of 99. The Pune spiritual leader passed away in the city on Thursday.

Vaswani was a brilliant student and graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree by the age of 17. He was an acclaimed writer, educator, philosopher and humanitarian.  He is known for his thesis on ‘The Scattering of X-Rays by Solids.’ This thesis was examined by Nobel Laureate Dr. C. V. Raman who was impressed.

One day Vaswani decided to relinquish his academics and follow his spiritual uncle Sadhu T. L. Vaswani. Once he turned spiritual, Vaswani penned self help books in English and Sindhi. He also edited the monthly journals for the Excelsior, the India Digest and the East and West series.

Vaswani was regarded as a powerful orator who has addressed the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago. He had spoken at the Global Forum of Spiritual Leaders at Kyoto, Japan, the House of Commons in London and The United Nations Millennium World Peace Summit
