A Member of Parliament (MP) of Dadra and Nagar Haveli was found dead in Mumbai.
According to sources, Mohan Dekar was found dead at a hotel in the Marine Drive area of south Mumbai. Based on the initial investigation, the Mumbai Police suspect it to be a suicide case.
Mumbai Police’s Spokesperson and the Deputy Commissioner of Police, said, “A suicide note has been found. Investigation is being done. The exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem.”
The body has been sent for a postmortem.
Mohan Delkar, a seven term MP, was earlier in the Indian National Congress (INC.) He was the INC President of Dadra and Nagar Haveli when he quit the party in 2019. In the same year he contested the national election as an independent candidate.
The 58 year old independent leader is survived by his wife and two children.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police registered a case and launched an investigation.
