‘Dare Speak About Casteism, You’ll Be Thrashed,’ Says Gadkari

Nitin Gadkari, the Union Transport Minister, on the 10th of February, warned people against speaking about casteism in his area.

The Punaruththan Samarasta Gurukulam organised a programme at Pimpri Chinchwad in Pune. At this event, Nitin Gadkari addressed the public and said, “We do not believe in any casteism…I do not know what do you have but there is no place for casteism in our five districts because I have warned everybody that if someone talks about caste, I will thrash him.”

Standing against casteism and inequality, Mr. Gadkari stated, he wants to see the society united and not divided by casteism and communalism.

Nitin Gadkari is in the limelight for his controversial comments in the past regarding various politicians and parties, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

In January 2019, Mr. Gadkari made a comment about the political leaders of the Country and said, “Political leaders show people big dreams, but those who do not keep their promises get beaten up by people. Therefore, one should only commit what they can fulfil.”

The Indian National Congress, also the opposition party in the Lok Sabha elections, appreciated Nitin Gadkari and said, he is the only one with guts in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled between April and May 2019. The major parties contesting are the INC and the BJP.
