The underworld don of India’s most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim, has been unwell and reportedly made frequent visits to a hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. This news came to light Saturday in the early hours when it was reported Dawood had suffered a heart attack and is hospitalized.

While some sources denied these rumors, others reported Dawood is getting treated for gangrene of limbs and heart stroke was a thing of the past. He also is said to be receiving medical assistance, from a hospital in Karachi, over the past few months.

Dawood, the main accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts had fled the country after the attacks and is said to have taken up residence in Pakistan. The fugitive was last seen at former Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad’s after hours party on April 19, 2017. Miandad’s son Junaid and Dawood’s daughter Mahrukh have been married since 2005. However, despite adequate proof, Pakistani government has denied Dawood’s existence in their country.

Indian security Agencies said D-Company, the firm owned by Dawood Ibrahim, controls Mumbai underworld that invests in real estates and also funds the film industry. It is said that the company works on cross border extortion, fake currency peddling and is also a huge part of Indian music and films piracy. Apart from India, Dawood’s firm has huge investments in Pakistan and United Arab Emirates. This empire was formed based on threats and extortion.

In his journey from a constable’s son to one of the world’s most feared underworld power, Dawood has a red corner notice issued against him by the Interpol. This is in regard to his involvement in 1993 blasts that killed 257 people and injured several hundred.
