Delhi Assembly Elections – AAP Celebrates Victory Against BJP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP,) on the 11th of February, won the Delhi Assembly elections against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with a massive number of votes.

On the night of the 11th of February, the Election Commission of India (ECI) officially announced the results of the elections, declaring the AAP was the winner.  The AAP won 62 seats out of 70 seats, the BJP won 8 seats and the Indian National Congress (INC) secured 0 seats in the elections.

Though the results were announced late night, the celebrations at the AAP office started in the evening after AAP senior leaders like Manish Sisodia, Atishi and Raghav Chadha won in their respective constituencies.

The Aam Aadmi Party, which was very happy with this victory, expressed its happiness with an emotional post on Twitter.  The AAP, on their official Twitter handle, posted a 15 second video from Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De India!

The scene shows Shah Rukh Khan as Kabir Khan, a coach of the Indian Hockey Team (Women,) breaking down in tears with happiness after India wins the Hockey World Cup against Australia.

The video was posted with the caption reading, “Emotions right now…”

Meanwhile, AAP leaders celebrated their victory by mimicking Manoj Tiwari, a  Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidate of the BJP. They danced to songs which featured Manoj Tiwari.  Manoj Tiwari, an actor turned politician, predicted the BJP would win 60 seats in the Delhi elections and was confident about the Party winning the Delhi Assembly elections.

Twitter is flooded with posts and memes in relation to the AAP’s victory and congratulatory messages for the Party for their third term as the Delhi Government.
