Delhi Assembly Elections – Arvind Kejriwal To File Nomination Papers

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, is going to file his nomination papers for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. 

On the 20th of January, Mr. Kejriwal would file his papers at the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office in Jamnagar House. 

According to sources, Arvind Kejriwal, along with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) cadres, would conduct a roadshow before filing his nomination. 

Mr. Kejriwal would begin his day by taking the blessings of Bhagwan Valmiki at Valmiki Mandir (temple) of Delhi and then he would address the roadshow. 

The roadshow is expected to start from Connaught Place,, crossing Panchkuian Marg into the Inner Circle and then move towards the Outer Circle, on to Baba Kharak Singh Marg.  It will end near the Patel Chowk Metro Station. 

With regard to today’s roadshow and the filing of nomination, AAP President Arvind Kejriwal released a ‘guarantee card.’

On the 19th of January, the AAP released a ‘guarantee card’ with 10 promises.  According to the AAP, if the Party comes to power, they would fulfil all the promises made in the guarantee card.  These promises include free bus rides for students, deployment of ‘mohalla marshals’ for women’s safety, free electricity up to 200 units, free health facilities, planting two crore saplings, cleaning Yamuna river and reducing the pollution in Delhi over the next five years.

The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on the 8th of February and the results would be announced on the 11th of February. 

The major parties contesting the Delhi Assembly elections are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the Indian National Congress (INC) and the AAP.
