Delhi Government To Screen Every House For Novel Coronavirus By 6th July

The Delhi Government announced to screen every single house for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, decided to screen every house in Delhi ‘s containment zone as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of the virus. 

In the month of June, Delhi reported a massive hike in the cases of the Novel Coronavirus and became top after Maharashtra in terms of COVID-19 cases. 

According to the planned strategy, by the 30th of June, all the houses in containment zone would be screened and by the 6th of July, all the houses in entire New Delhi would be screened. 

The decision to do so was taken after a meeting with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. 

In addition, the Delhi Government issues an order has also been issued for posting senior nursing officers at 68 private hospitals for monitoring admission of COVID-19 patients.

Meanwhile, Delhi conducted as many as 4,01,648 tests till the 24th of June.

Recently, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Delhi Government asked the Union Home Minister to provide a 10,000-bed COVID-19 facility at the premises of Radha Saomi Satsang Beas in south Delhi, which has been inaugurated by the Delhi Government.

The hospital would be in function from the  26th of June and would be operated under Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP.)

The Delhi CM also aksed the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for doctors and nurses from the ITBP and the Army to run the centre.

In a series of tweets, Mr. Shah said a 1,000-bed full-fledged hospital with 250 ICU beds is being developed for COVID-19 patients and the facility, to be manned by armed forces personnel, will be ready in the next 10 days.

Replying to the letter of Arvind Kejriwal, Amit Shah said, “Dear Kejriwal ji, It has already been decided in our meeting 3 days back and MHA has assigned the work of operating the 10,000 bed COVID Care Centre at Radha Swami Beas in Delhi to ITBP. The work is in full swing and a large part of the facility will be operational by 26th June.”

Mr. Kejriwal respond to the tweet and said, “The country’s Army, doctors, social organisations, central government and Delhi government – all are working unitedly for Delhi. I am sure that we all will beat Corona together. Thank you for helping the Delhi government and the people of Delhi in these difficult circumstances.”

Delhi reported a total of 70,390 cases of the Novel Coronavirus. Out of the total, 26,588 are active cases, 41,437 recovered cases and 2,365 fatalities till the 24th of June.
