In Delhi, a horrific incident of a teenage murder was reported on the 29th of May, Monday.
According to sources, the brutal killing of a 16 year old Sakshi was captured in a CCTV footage of Shahbad Dairy area, Delhi. The accused, suspected to be her boyfriend, allegedly stabbed her with a knife 20 times and then smashed her face with a stone. The police registered a case after a video of the incident went viral on social media platforms, with criticism for the police, raising alarming security concerns.
Getting into the details, the accused, identified as Sahil (20) is said to be a close friend of the victim. They were in a relationship, but had a quarrel over something on the 27th of May, Saturday. On the 28th of May, Sunday, the victim, Sakshi was going for a friend’s birthday party when the accused intercepted her on the streets and committed the brutal murder. Her body was later found lying on the street and was shifted to a hospital for postmortem. The police registered a case under Section 307 (Murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched an investigation. The Delhi Police issued an official statement into the matter and said, “A 16-year-old girl stabbed to death by her boyfriend, identified as 20-year-old Sahil in Shahbad Dairy PS limits of Delhi. Sahil and the deceased were in a relationship but yesterday they had a quarrel. The deceased was planning to attend her friend’s son’s birthday when the accused intercepted her, stabbed her multiple times & hit her with a stone. Accused is absconding and the search for him is underway. FIR registered u/s 302 IPC at PS Shahbad Dairy.”
Meanwhile, the horrendous crime in the national capital raised several security concerns. Ms. Swati Maiwal, the Delhi Commissioner for Women (DCW) took a serious note of the crime. She took to Twitter and shared, “In Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy, a minor innocent doll was stabbed and then crushed with a stone. The spirits of the criminals in Delhi are high. Issuing notice to the police. All limits have been crossed. I have never seen anything more horrifying than this in my career of so many years.”
The DCW would issue a notice to the Delhi Police and would ask to fast track the investigation of the ghastly crime, which happened in Delhi.
