Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, on the 16th of August, will visit Arun Jaitley, the former Finance Minister of India, at the All India Institute of Science (AIIMS,) Delhi.
Arun Jaitley is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the cardio neuro department of the AIIMS, due to breathing problems and weakness since the 9th of August.
Mr. Jaitley’s condition is said to be critical and he is undergoing treatment under the supervision of multidisciplinary doctors such as cardiologists (heart specialists,) endocrinologists (endocrine glands specialists) and nephrologists (kidney specialists.) He was admitted after he complained of uneasiness, breathing issues and weakness and was put on ventilator on the night of the 9th of August.
President Kovind will soon reach the AIIMS and meet Jaitley, who suffers from multiple diseases like diabetes and blood pressure problems. He also had bariatric surgery in 2014 to lose extra weight. In 2018, he had a kidney transplant.
Apart from President Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and other leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are also expected to visit Arun Jaitley.
