On early hours of Tuesday, a bus of Diwakar Travels, from Hyderabad to Vijayawada on the highway fell into a culvert. In this accident, atleast 9 people died and over 20 were injured. At around 5 A.M., the bus fell over into the culvert at Penuganchiprolu near the Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh.
According to reports the driver of the bus fell asleep and lost control of the bus which led to the accident. The people in the nearby area immediately intimated to the police, who rushed to the spot. The rescue operations faced trouble as the bus fell into a culvert and was stuck in water.
Authorities used ropes to rescue the stranded passengers from the vehicle and injured people were sent to a private hospital in the nearby Nandigama Village of the Krishna District. The bus which belongs to Diwakar Travels is owned by TDP MLA J.C. Prabhakar Reddy from Andhra and his brother, and Anantapur MP J.C. Diwakar Reddy.
