On the 24th of September, the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) released an official statement regarding the health of Mr. Vinayakanth, the President of the DMDK.
According to the sources, on the 23rd of September, Mr. Vijayakanth was admitted to a hospital in Chennai after being positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
The actor turned politician was tested positive for COVID-19 on the 22nd of September.
However, Mr. Vijayakanth is having mild symptoms and is said to be in a stable condition.
Mr. Vijayakanth was admitted to Madras Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (MIOT,) Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
As the news of Mr. Vijayakanth being positive broke out, fans and political leaders wished him a speedy recovery.
In regard to this, the DMDK party on the 24th of September, issued an official statement informing about its President.
The Party statement read, “Vijayakanth has recovered from Covid-19. According to the release, the actor-politician recently visited MIOT Hospital in Chennai for a general check up. He showed mild Covid-19 symptoms and was treated for the same.”
The statement further read, “Mr. Vijayakanth has been cured and is in good health now, and is likely to get discharged soon.”
After the DMDK’s official statement, the MIOT also issued a statement regarding the health conditions of Mr. Vijayakanth.
The hospital statement read, “DMDK founder Vijayakanth tested COVID-19 positive on September 22. He has been treated for the same and is completely stable. He is expected to make full recovery and should be ready for discharge soon.”
Mr. Vijayakanth is currently at the hospital and is undergoing treatment.
