The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) led by M.K. Stalin won the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly electionsTamil Nadu Assembly elections.  The 40 years of wait to be in power ended with a magnificent victory of 

The DMK president M.K. Stalin, extended his gratitude to people who voted for him and his Party.  He said, “The people have given their massive support realising that their well-being would be protected if DMK was voted to power, he said in a statement. The victory was a commendation for over 50 years of his party’s committed work for the people and state. Also, it was in recognition of everyday hard work of partymen to fulfill the dream of bringing the party to power.”

According to sources, the DMK won close to 130 seats, exceeding the majority mark of 118 Assembly constituencies.

The results of the 2021 elections showed that despite being in power since 2011, the AIDMK failed people, hence the opposition won the battle and dethroned the ruling Party.  Highlighting the victory of the DMK, against the ruling All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIDMK) is the COVID-19 crisis and its handling by the ruling Government.   

Adding to it, M.K. Stalin’s campaign focussed on strengthening Tamil Nadu’s growth and development, promising jobs and listening to people’s problems within 100 days. 

He collected these grievances from people across the 234 constituencies during his campaign.   He said, “I am Kalaingnar’s (M Karunanidhi) son. He delivered what he promised. I assure you every problem submitted here will be solved within 100 days.”

Soon after taking over as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the first challenge in the way of M.K. Stalin is to fight the second wave of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.  Tamil Nadu is one of the worst COVID-19 states. 

Meanwhile, regarding the oath taking ceremony, M.K., Stalin is going to announce the date for the swearing in ceremony. 

However, due to the outbreak of the Novel Cooronavirus, the ceremony would be a low jey affair with limited people.
