Mr. Siddaramaiah, a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) and former Chief Minister of Karnataka tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Mr. Siddaramaiah is currently admitted to Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru and undergoing treatment for the same. 

The news of Siddaramaiah being Coronavirus positive was confirmed by his son.  He said, “My father had fever since yesterday [Monday] and got admitted to hospital.  He got the antigen test and tested positive.” 

Mr. Siddaramaiah’s son also requested all the people who came in contact with his father to take a Coronavirus test. 

Meanwhile, the authority of Manipal Hospital said, “He (Siddaramaiah) is doing well and stable currently.  He is undergoing appropriate evaluation and management by a multidisciplinary team of doctors.” 

The news of Siddaramaiah being positive of the deadly virus came two days, after Chief Minister of Karnataka, B.S. Yediyurappa tested positive for the deadly infection. 

Mr. Yediyurappa is also admitted to the same, Manipal Hospital and is undergoing treatment. 

With this, at least five political leaders of Karnataka are infected by the virus. 

Previously, Karnataka Forest Minister Anand Singh, the State Tourism Minister C.T. Ravi and the Karnataka Agriculture Minister B.C. Patil also tested positive for COVID-19.
