Babulal Gaur, the former Chief Minister (CM) of Madhya Pradesh (MP,) passed away on the 21st of August.
Babulal Gaur, 89 years old, was suffering from prolonged illness and was undergoing treatment for the same at a hospital in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Mr. Gaur was admitted to the hospital on the 7th of August, after he complained of respiratory issues. Later, during the treatment, his condition was critical due to a drop in blood pressure. In his last days, he was even put on a ventilator.
Babulal Gaur, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) served as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh from 2004 to 2005. He was also elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) 10 times form Govindpura till 2013.
He retired from electoral politics in 2018 due to his health issues.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and conveyed his condolences to the family of Babulal Gaur.

Kamal Nath, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, also announced a three day mourning in the State.
The mortal remains of Babulal Gaur were kept at the BJP headquarters in Madhya Pradesh so people and political leaders could pay their last respects to Babulal.
The last rites of Mr. Gaur will be performed with state honours on the evening of the 21st of August.
