Pranab Mukherjee, the former President of India, tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus.
Mr. Mukherjee confirmed the news through a tweet on the 10th of August.
In the tweet, Mr. Mukherjee said, “On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID-19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19.”
According to sources, Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minister of India, would visit Army’s Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital to enquire about the health of former President Pranab Mukherjee.
Mr. Mukherjee is currently admitted to Army’s Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital and undergoing treatment for the Novel Coronavirus.
Hearing upon the news of Pranab Mukherjee being positive of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, many politicians and ministers wished Mr. Mukherjee for his speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, in India the cases of the Novel Coronavirus crossed 22 lakhs till the 10th of August.
In India there are 22,17,879 positive cases, of which 6,36,657 are active cases, 15,36,259 recovered or discharged cases and 44,499 deceased.
