Pramod Sawant, the Chief Minister of Goa, tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus ot COVID-19.

According to sources, currently Mr. Sawant is under home isolation and said to be asymptomatic.

Pramod Sawant, on the 2nd of September, took to his Twitter handle and said, “I wish to inform all that I have been detected COVID19 positive. I am asymptomatic and hence have opted for home isolation. I shall continue to discharge my duties working from home. Those who have come in my close contact are advised to take the necessary precautions.”

Recently, on the 1st of September, Pramod Sawant chaired a video conference meeting with officers in charge of COVID-19 care centers in Goa. During the meeting he also reviewed the functioning of the centres.

On the 31st of August, Mr. Sawant conducted a meeting with Vishwajit Rane, the Health Minister of Goa, the Revenue Minister and officials to review the coronavirus management in Goa.

Till the 2nd of September, Goa reported 18,006 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. Of the total, 3,962 are active cases, 13,850 are recovered/discharged cases and 194 are deceased.
