Haryana, on the 21st of October, is conducting its Assembly elections for 90 seats in the State.
Approximately 1.83 crore voters are eligible to vote in the State, including 85 lakh women and 252 transgenders.
The major parties contesting the Haryana Assembly elections are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC.)
The polling began at 7:00 A.M., and will continue till 6:00 P.M.
As of 2:00 P.M., 36.96 % voters turnout recorded so far.
At least 75,000 security personnel were deployed at 19,578 polling stations in Haryana for fair and peaceful polls.
Political leaders of the BJP, INC and wrestler Geeta Phogat and her family were amongst a few early voters in their respective constituencies.
At a few polling stations, the electoral officers reported glitches in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs.)

Apart from Maharashtra and Haryana, approximately 58 Assembly constituencies across India are conducting their bypolls on the 21st of October.
The results of the Assembly elections and the by elections will be announced on the 24th of October.
