HC to pronounce verdict in Jayalalitha’s DA case today

Bengaluru: The High Court of Karnataka will pronounce the verdict in Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha’s disproportionate assets case on Monday. Heavy security has been installed at the premises of the court and the police clamped prohibitory orders in one km radius of the Court from 6 AM to 6 PM on Monday.

A special court in Bengaluru had convicted Jayalalitha in the case of disproportionate assets worth Rs 58 crores on September 27, 2014. Her associates V N Sudhakaran, J Illavarasi and V K Sasikala were also convicted. The court sentenced her to four years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 100 crore.
