Highlights Of PM Modi’s Video Conference With CMs

Prime Minister Narendra  Modi, on the 2nd of April concluded a video conference meeting with the chief ministers (CM) of all states and union territories.

The video conference meeting was organised to discuss the ongoing situation in India due to the pandemic Novel Coronavirus illness and precautionary lockdown till the 15th of April.

Mr. Modi also asked the state governments to chalk down a strategy to ensure re-emergence of people once the lockdown ends on the 15th of April.

Highlights of  today’s video conference:

  • Our goal is to ensure minimum loss of life: Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • CMs of all states briefed about the steps taken to ensure the control of the Coronavirus spread in their respective states.
  • Uddhav Thackeray, the CM of Maharashtra, suggested reaching out to community leaders and other welfare organisations and refrain them from conducting any public gathering.  
  • Discussion over Nizamuddin religious congregation event and attendees of the same from different states.
  • PM Modi suggested forming Crisis Management Groups at district levels, which would work under District Surveillance Officers, who would be in contact with the Union bureaucrats concerning the pandemic situation.
  • Maintenance of medical facilities, doctors, designated COVID-19 hospitals, isolation wards, trained volunteers to tackle the COVID-19 situation in every state.
  •  The Prime Ministers asked the governments to be alert as the next few weeks are crucial. Places where testing, tracing, isolation and quarantine are situated, should be the focus areas of state administrations.

Beside all the CMs of states and UTs, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Home Minister Amit shah and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, attended the conference.
