The Indian Air Force (IAF) announced to have received the highest number of applications for recruitment into the Air Force under the newly launched Agnipath Scheme.
On the 6th of July, Wednesday, the IAF tweeted, “The online registration process conducted by #IAF towards #AgnipathRecruitmentScheme has been completed. Compared to 6,31,528 applications in the past, which was the highest in any recruitment cycle, this time 7,49,899 applications have been received.”
Notably, in the 2021 recruitment cycle, the registration process was reported to have 6,31,528 applications, which surpassed this year, under the new scheme.
Furthermore, for 2022, the IAF started the registration process on the 24th of June, which continued till the 5th of July, under the Agnipath scheme.
It is to be noted, that the number comes despite the protests in various parts of the country against the newly launched scheme, demanding to revoke it.
