On the 20th of August, India recorded the biggest single day spike of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 disease.
Since the deadly disease broke out in India, this is the first time India recorded more than 65,000 cases.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW,) on the morning of the 20th of August, confirmed 69,652 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
While positive cases recorded in the past 24 hours stood at 69,652, death cases recorded were 977 and recoveries were 58,794.

According to the daily updates, India’s everyday spike and death toll left the United States of America (U.S.A.,) and Brazil.
The U.S.A., has a total of 5,700,931 cases of COVID-19, whereas, in Brazil total cases stand at 3,460,413.
India is the third worst COVID-19 hit nation with 2,836,925 cases.
The five most affected states by total tally of cases are Maharashtra (628,642), Tamil Nadu (349,654), Andhra Pradesh (306,261), Karnataka (249,000), and Uttar Pradesh (162,434.)
