The infection cases reached another level on the 29th of May, after the Union Health Ministry confirmed 7,466 fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus.
With just 2 days left for the end of the proposed lockdown, the number of increased cases is a concern, India would soon cross 2 lakh cases of the Novel Coronavirus. Though India improved its recovery rate from 40 % to 42%, new cases coming up during lockdown is a new kind of danger. Such cases raise security questions and matters of concern, especially when the cases are expected to reach the highest peak during the month of June and July. According to the health experts, the Novel Coronavirus cases may increase to a new peak in the coming days. If health experts are to be believed, if the infection rate continues to increase at this pace, India may record 18.000 deaths during the month of June.
While positive cases increased by 7,466 deaths in India increased by 175 and stood at a total of 4,706.
Out of 7,500 new cases highest are in Maharashtra State, which reported 2,598 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus taking the total to 59,546.
Other most affected Indian states due to the Novel Coronavirus are Tamil Nadu (19,372,) Delhi (16,281,) Gujarat (15,572,) Rajasthan (8,067,) Madhya Pradesh (7,453) and Uttar Pradesh (7,170.)
The other states with below 5,000 cases are West Bengal (4,536,) Andhra Pradesh (3,245) Bihar (3,185.)

India became the 9th worst COVID-19 hit nation after crossing 1.65 lakh cases on the 29th of May. In addition, India resumed aviation services and is set to start railway services from the 1st of June.
Meanwhile, SpiceJet aviation service, on the 27th of May, confirmed two SpiceJet passengers to be COVID-19 positive.Passengers who travelled from Ahmedabad to Guwahati on the 25th of May were tested at the Guwahati airport and tested positive.
Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, on the 28th of May, conducted a meeting with state governments officials regarding the extension of lockdown, rules and other precautionary measures post lockdown.
Meanwhile, the nation wide lockdown is scheduled to end on the 31st of May.
