India Records Highest Single Day Spike Of COVID-19, Total Surges 4.4 Million

India, on the 10th of September, recorded its worst single day spike of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases. 

The Union Health Ministry confirmed 95,529 new cases and 1,100 deaths.

With this, India has 4,465,863 positive cases, of which 34,71,783 are recovered/discharged, 9,19,108 are active cases and 75,062 deceased

In addition, India recorded 6,12,251 cases in just seven days, which is the highest new cases that any other nation.

In India Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu account for 62% of total active Coronavirus cases.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) provided the data of every day tests, which took the total to 5 crores.

Till date India tested 5,29,34,433 samples including 11,29,756 which were tested in the past 24 hours.

In July, India used to test 6,396 which started increasing day by day. Currently, India tests minimum 10 lakh tests in a day.

Meanwhile, Indian states and union territories which reported the highest single day spike are Maharashtra (23, 816) and Delhi (4,039.)

While India is the second worst COVID-19 hit nation, the United States of America (U.S.A.,) stands on top with 6,548,737 cases, followed by India (4,465,863,) Brazil (4,199,332) and Russia (1,041,007.)

The global tally of coronavirus cases stands at 28,011,870. While 20,082,808 have recovered, 907,248 have died till date.
