In order to boost the defence and security system of India, the Defence Ministry is purchasing AK-203 assault rifles. On the 6th of December, Monday, India and Russia are going to sign a deal for 7.5 lakh rifles.
Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India and Mr. Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia will sign the deal, worth Rs. 5,000 crores. The deal would be signed during Mr. Vladimir Putin’s recent visit to India.
In regard to this, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cleared all the work, including the final approval of the Union Cabinet.
Russian President Vladmir Putin will pay an official visit to New Delhi on the 6th of December for the 21st India-Russia Annual Summit with PM Narendra Modi. The leaders would be exchanging views on topical issues on the international agenda, including joint work within the G20, BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Meanwhile, of 7.5 lakh AK-203 assault rifles, 7,00,000 will be imported from Russia with Russian components, whereas the remaining 50,000 rifles would be produced in India, with the transfer of technology.
The rifles would reach India in 32 months after the production begins.
