India To Cross 4 Lakh Cases of Covid-19

India is recording biggest single day spike of the Novel Coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Everyday fresh cases is more than 10,000 taking the numbers to almost 4 lakhs. 

With new cases,the total number of positive cases, it is expected, India would soon cross more than 4 lakh cases.

Currently, India’s Coronavirus cases stand at 3.98 lakhs.

Maharashtra reported highest cases of covid-19, followed by Delhi, Tamil Naidu,Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. 

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana covid-19 cases also increased in terms of high single day spike.

Despite rise in cases, India improved its recovery rate in the past few days. Previously the recovery rate was 52 % which is now better at 55.5 %.

According to the population of India,  133 crore people, Indian Government’s lockdown decision was a major precaution. 

According to experts, the 2 months strict nationwide lockdown, helped India to curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus in the Country. 

If the Central Government have not imposed the lockdown, the numbers of positive cases would have crossed 10 lakh till date. 

The nationwide lockdown was imposed on the 24th of March and was revised again later on the 14th of April. 

After 4 such revised lockdowns, on the 8th of June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government announced Unlock 1.0.

Under the first phase of Unlock, the Central Government allowed markets, shopping malls, salons, religious places and offices to operate and function. 

However, the restrictions were lifted only in the Red, Green and Orange zones in all the Indian States. 

The containment zones for the spread of the virus are under lockdown 5.0., with limited restrictions. 

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a two days meeting with chief ministers of Indian states and union territories to discuss the ongoing situation due to the deadly infection. 

Mr. Modi also cleared rumours about another lockdown and asked the chief ministers of Indian states to prepare for Unlock 2.0.

The second phase of Unlock is expected to come in force after the 30th of June, after the Unlock 1.0., and lockdown 5.0.,would end.
