The Government of India (GoI) on the 29th of June, banned 59 apps of China.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the ban, citing security of India and defence issues.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Electronics and Information Technology Minister of India, said, “For safety, security, defence, sovereignty & integrity of India and to protect data & privacy of people of India the Government has banned 59 mobile apps. Jai Hind!. “
