On the occasion of the 71st birthday of Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a mega vaccination drive.
Starting from today, the 17th of September, the BJP workers and cadres would ensure the majority of people get their vaccine doses against the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.) On the first day till 1:30 P.M., India administered 1 crore COVID-19 doses.
The Narendra Modi Government vaccinated over 42,000 vaccine doses in a minute, across the nation. With this speed, the National Health Department could cross a milestone of vaccinating close to 3 crore doses in a day.
The Union Health Ministry said, “At this rate, we may achieve 2.5 crore vaccinations today. States have enough doses.”
The National Health Authority Chief Mr. R.S. Sharma, took to Twitter and posted, “Celebrating the relentless efforts of India’s vaccinators against COVID-19, we have added a ticker to show vaccinations happening in near real-time. We are currently clocking over 42,000 vaccinations/minute or 700/second.”
The vaccinating drive also termed as #VaccineSeva was said to be a gift for PM Modi. The Union Health Ministry Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya said, “On PM @Narendra Modi Ji”s birthday, till 1:30 pm, the country has crossed the mark of 1 crore vaccines, the fastest so far, and we are continuously moving forward. I believe that today we will all make a new record of vaccination and give it as a gift to the prime minister.”
With this, India vaccinated close to 1 crore people for the fourth time. The other three times when the Indian Health Department administered 1 crore doses were on the 27th of August, the 31st of August and the 6th of September.
