Mr. Raj Subramaniam, an Indian American has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FedEx, the giant multinational courier company, headquartered in the United States of America (U.S.A.)
On the 28th of March, Monday, the Chairman and CEO of FedEx Mr. Frederick W. Smith announced his resignation. He released a statement that read, “As we look toward what’s next, I have a great sense of satisfaction that a leader of the caliber of Raj Subramaniam will take FedEx into a very successful future.”
As per sources, Mr. Smith will step down as the CEO on the 1st of June, following which he would be focusing on his role as the Chairman. He said, after resigning as the CEO, his focus would be on Board governance as well as issues of global importance, including sustainability, innovation, and public policy.
Meanwhile, working as one of the board members of the company, Mr. Raj Subramanaiam said, “Fred is a visionary leader and a legend of the business world. He founded one of the world’s greatest and most admired companies, and it is my honor and privilege to step into this role and build upon what he has created.”
With this, from the 1st of June 2021, Mr. Raj Subramaniam would head FedEx, which has 600,000 employees globally and would also maintain his position as a board member.
