Indian States Under Lockdown Till 31st of March

After 396 positive cases and 7 deaths due to the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, several state governments issued orders of complete lockdown till the 31st of March.

On the 23rd of March, India reported a total of 396 COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths, which led to the complete shut down in many states and cities.

Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and others announced lock down.

Indian Railway Ministry announces suspensions of passenger trains till the 31st of March.

The decision was taken on the evening of the 22nd of March, Sunday after a 14 hour Janata Curfew, analysing the current situations.

The Government Order (GO) Ms. No. 45, issued by the Telangana Government read, “The Government in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 2 of the The Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, read with all other enabling provisions of the The Disaster Management Act, 2005, hereby notify lockdown in the entire State of Telangana with immediate effect till 31st March, 2020.”

It further added a set of guidelines to be followed during the lockdown.  This lockdown is also expected to be preparing to fight the 3rd Stage of the Coronavirus by imposing Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC,) increasing medical facilities, approaching private hospitals for medical treatments, new isolation wards, medical screening staff and others.

The news of increased COVID-19 cases in India and being on the edge of Stage 3 is not to create panic, but to create awareness– how important social distancing is especially, for senior citizens and children.

The next two weeks are said to be really crucial for the Country, which would decide if the situation could be worse or would get better.

The citizens of India are advised to stay indoors and follow social distancing strictly for the coming 2 weeks.  If any person feels chills, cold, cough, fever, headache or body aches they should immediately contact the nearby medical centres and take the COVID-19 tests.
