On the 19th of June, the Union Health Ministry confirmed 13,587 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus in India. 

With this till the 19th of June, India crossed the 3.8 lakh mark as the number stand at 3,80,533 cases.

Meanwhile,on the 19th of June death toll stood at 12,573 as per the official website of the Union Health Ministry.

There are 160,384 active cases of coronavirus in the country and 194,324 people have been cured/discharged.

According to a few medical experts, the steep rise in Covid-19 cases in the country is alarming as it points to faster spread of the virus.  They also suggested, India might enter community transmission soon or have entered the third phase of the Coronavirus spread, community transmission.

The rise of positivity rate in India, coupled with increasing new cases, hint the Coronavirus is spreading in the community.

Initially, only 7% of 100 % were positive cases, but now out of 100 samples 31 tests COVID-19 positive. 

Meanwhile, Indian Government is planning to impose Unlock 2.0.,reopening of economic markets in a second phase. 

Unlock 1.0., started from the 8th of June, under which shopping malls, temples and markets were allowed to open. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the 16th and 17th of June, conducted a meeting with chief ministers of different states and union territories regarding the same. 

During the meeting Mr. Modi also dismissed all the rumours of re lockdown and asked state governments to buck up for the second phase opening. 

However, an official announcement regarding the Unlock 2.0., is yet to be made.
