The Novel Coronavirus cases in India crossed 80 lakhs or 8 million mark with 50,000 new cases.
The number of single day COVID-19 cases decreased to 50,000 from the previous 1,00,000 to 70,000 cases.
The decrase is reported when the economy continued to reopen amid the festive season.
This is the second time in a week, the nation reported below 50,000 cases.
In the past 24 hours, India added 45,148 fresh cases, lowest since the 22nd of July.
The figure was updated on the 26th of October by the Union Health Ministry.

The slower pace of daily infections and an improved recovery rate kept active cases in India below the 7-lakh-mark for the fourth straight day. That’s just 8.5% of the total caseload. India’s active cases had crossed 10 lakh in mid-September. New cases have been falling in India for nearly a month. Daily additions have remained below the 90,000 mark since the 21st of September.
The daily death toll has also declined compared to a month ago. The figure fell below the 500-mark today, for the first time in over three months.
