Ahead of the Republic Day celebration, the Intelligence Agency (AI) in Delhi, issued threat for Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and other dignitaries.

On the 18th of January, the AI issued a security alert, stating “possible terror plot” from terrorist groups based out of Pakistan and Afghanistan, which is possibly would attack India through drones, on the 2022 Republic Day (R-Day.) After getting inputs from multiple agencies on a suspected terror attack, security forces have issued a detailed alert for officers and troops deployed in five poll-bound states and for Republic Day ceremonies in the capital and other parts of the country.

In addition, as per the intelligence input, terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Resistance Force, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Harkat-Ul-Mujahideen, and Hizb-ul-Mujahedeen, were behind the terror threat.

The input said that Khalistani groups based in Pakistan are also mobilising cadres to regroup and revive militancy in Punjab. They also plan targeted attacks in Punjab and other states.

Meanwhile, recently, the bomb squad recovered explosives from Ghazipur Flower Market, Delhi. In addition, the Delhi Police have deployed security forces, CCTV cameras at Rajpath, Delhi.

On the other hand, to attend the 75th Republic Day Celebration, leaders from five central Asian countries, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan — are likely to be invited as chief guests.
