The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) started online booking for special 200 non AC trains from the 21st of May.

The trains approved by the Ministry of Indian Railways would begin from the 1st of June, following social distancing norms.

On the evening of the 20th of May, the Indian Railways issued a list of 200 trains, which includes Durontos, Purva, Sampark Kranti and other  trains.

However, the passengers would be allowed inside railway stations after a confirmed ticket, thermal screening and face mask and need to reach 90 minutes before the departure time.  Besides this, Arogya Setu App is mandatory for passengers travelling in these 200 special trains.

There would be no linen services and pantry cars in the trains running from the 1st of June.  Passengers need to carry their own food and if possible water too.

The trains would have both AC and Non AC coaches and even general class would be reserved coaches this time.  These trains would cover major state capitals and 2 tier cities’ railway stations.  The decision to resume passenger train services were taken to help stranded people in different cities and would mostly cover long distance routes and small cities.

Stay tuned for further updates.
