Jawed Habib, one of the most prominent hair salons in the country, was trolled and backlashed on social media for an advertising picture. A printed ad which went in a Kolkata newspaper for the upcoming festive season showed several Hindu gods in the picture with the tagline “Gods too Visit JH Salon.” This provoked the believers on Social media.
The advertising print was hurting the religious sentiments of many and the believers took to Twitter making anti Islamic comments. According to the hairstylist, the advertorial print was released by the franchise owner with out Jawed’s permission. Just before this incident, Habib went to inaugurate a salon in Haryana, where, he unfortunately had a heart attack, as per the reports. Later, he declared on Twitter that he is safe as he was immediately rushed to the hospital.
After all the chaos on social media, the hairstylist apologised in a video on Twitter stating “It was a mistake by franchise.. Also, Jawed tweeted an apology letter to Shri Acharya Jitendra Ji Maharaj.
Apart from the apology, Habib wished with an advertising ad stating “Wishing you all happiness and joy for the upcoming festive season and Durga Pooja” and also made it clear that the ad which hurt religious sentiment was inadvertent.
