JNU Organises 5 Member Committee To Investigate JNU Violence

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) administration and Vice Chancellor of JNU, M. Jagadesh Kumar, organised a 5 member committee to investigate the JNU violence incident.

On the 5th of January, 30 masked men entered the JNU campus and attacked  students and teachers. 

Soon, the entire City of Delhi came in support of the JNU students demanding action against the masked men, who are suspected to be members of the Akhil Bharatiya  Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP.) 

On the 9th of January, the JNU administration organised a committee comprising of Professor Sushant Mishra, Professor Mazhar Asif, Professor Sudheer Pratap Singh, Professor Santosh Sukla and Dr. Bhaswati Das.  This committee is headed by Professor Mishra.

Registrar Dr. Pramod Kumar, issued a notice regarding the same, “The Chief Security Officer shall coordinate and assist the committee. The committee shall submit its report at the earliest.” 

While the committee started the investigation regarding the attack, the ruling and the opposition party started the blame game. 

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) condemned the attack and blamed the opposition parties for the attack. Similarly, the Indian National Congress (INC)  slammed the Modi Government for the same.
