The back and forth between the Congress leader Kapil Sibal and Prime Minister Modi continues. After Modi questioned his reasons for asking the Supreme Court to postpone the Ayodhya case hearing to 2019 Sibal lashed back at the Prime Minister.
Sibal was quoted saying, “Our PM comments without knowing things sometimes. Amit Shah and he said I represented the Sunni Waqf Board. I was never a Sunni Waqf Board lawyer.” Sibal clarified that he was representing an individual in the Ayodhya case. He further added, “The Ram temple will be built when God wants it built, not when Modiji wants it. The matter is in court.”
The Prime Minister stated he did not like Sibal linking the Ayodhya case with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Supreme Court denied Sibal’s plea to postpone the hearing. The final hearing to conclude the Babri Masjid dispute will be held in February 2018.
