Mayawati Das, the President of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP,) on the 20th of February, criticised the recently announced alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All India Anna Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK.)

Ms. Das said, “Does the BJP’s move to strike alliance in Bihar and then in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu – in absolute helplessness and on its knees – indicate its strong leadership? In reality, the BJP is so afraid of the SP-BSP alliance that it is now running from pillar to post to form alliances.”

The harsh criticism of the BSP chief came after the BJP, on the 19th of February, formed an alliance with the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Apart from the AIADMK, the BJP also finalised an alliance with the Shiv Sena and announced a 50:50 seat sharing strategy in Maharashtra.

Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mayawati also spoke about his unfruitful schemes and said, no matter how hard the BJP tries to win the Lok Sabha elections, the citizens of India will not vote the Party back to power.

She said, “No matter what the BJP does now, 130 crore people will not spare them for their anti poor, anti farmer anti worker policies.” She further added, “People will demolish their arrogance and won’t vote them back to power.”

The grand alliance of the BSP and the Samajwadi Party (SP) does not waste any opportunity to criticise the opposition, the BJP. The BJP also frequently takes a dig at its opposition parties during public rallies.

The grand alliance of the BSP and the Samajwadi Party (SP) does not waste any opportunity to criticise the opposition, the BJP. The BJP also frequently takes a dig at its opposition parties during public rallies.

Recently, Amit Shah, the President of the BJP, while addressing a public rally, criticised the grand alliance of the opposition parties as ‘thugbandhan.’

Criticism and slamming each other during public rallies is said to be the campaign strategy of the Parties ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, scheduled between April and May 2019.

The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections are the BJP and the Indian National Congress (INC.)
