Madhya Pradesh Government Announces Free COVID-19 Vaccine To Poor

On the 23rd of October, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan, announced free vaccine distribution of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. 

According to sources, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) would provide COVID-19 vaccine free of cost to the underprivileged.

Mr. Chouhan said: “Since the time Covid-19 vaccine trials started in India, there has been one discussion among the poor people — ‘whether we will be able to afford the vaccine?’ Today, I want to make it clear that every poor person in Madhya Pradesh will get the vaccine free of cost. We will win this battle.”

Following the BJP poll manifesto in Bihar, the Madhya Pradesh Government also announced a free COVID-19 vaccine when available.

As per the Indian Health Department, the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 vaccine is likely to be available by mid 2021.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is conducting phased trials of Candidate COVID-19 vaccine.
