Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray kick started campaigns in Maharashtra for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Both Devendra Fadnavis, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Thackeray conducted multiple rallies across Maharashtra.

According to sources, Mr. Fadnavis will address seven rallies, starting from the Washim district at 10:45 A.M.  After Washim, he addressed Akot public rally in Akola at 12:45 P.M.

Later, around 2:00 P.M., the Maharashtra CM visited Daryapur in Amravati and addressed a public rally.  He will then address public rallies at Karanja Ghadge in Wardha at 3:45 P.M., and Dabha in Nagpur at 6:00 P.M.

The last two rallies of Devendra Fadnavis on the 12th of October are scheduled at 7:00 P.M., at Timber Market in West Nagpur and at 8:00 P.M., at Udaynagar Chowk in South Nagpur.

Fadnavis is contesting from the Nagpur South West constituency, the same place from where he emerged victorious in 2014, against Indian National Congress (INC) leader Ashish Deshmukh.

On the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray’s schedule is also packed for the day with approximately 5 rallies across Maharashtra.

Uddhav Thackeray started his first rally form Akkalkuva at 11:00 A.M., followed by Dhule at 12:00 P.M.  At 1:00 P.M., Thackeray conducted a rally at Dindori, following which, he visited Nandgaon at 3:00 P.M.

Mr. Thackeray will conclude his election campaign for the day by addressing a public rally in Yeola at 7:00 P.M.

The BJP formed an alliance with the Shiv Sena for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, against the INC.

Speaking about the mathematics of seat sharing formula, out of 288 Assembly seats, Shiv Sena will contest 124 seats, whereas the BJP will contest 164 seats.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on the 21st of October, whereas the results will be announced on the 24th of October.
