Monsoon Parliament Session Set To Begin From 19th of July

The Monsoon Session of the Parliament is set to begin from the 19th of July. During the Parliament Monsoon Session, there would be 19 sittings, discussing various issues of the Indian Government and the Parliament.

The Monsoon Parliament session would begin from the 19th of July and would continue till the 13th of August. In regard to this, the Central Government issued an official communique on the 2nd of July.

The upcoming Monsoon Parliament Session would be the sixth session of the 17th Lok Sabha. Besides the Lok Sabha, the Rajya Sabha session would also begin from the 19th of July till the 13th of August.

In regard to this an order has been issued, which read, “The President has summoned the Rajya Sabha to meet on Monday, 19 July 2021, at New Delhi. Subject to exigencies of business, the Session is scheduled to conclude on Friday, 13 August 2021.”

With this, both the houses (the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha) are going to have 19 sittings, simultaneously.

According to sources, ahead of the Monsoon session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked union ministers, members of the Council of Ministers and other Members of Parliament (MPs) to be prepared for the Monsoon Parliament Session 2021. The PM of India also asked the ministers and MPs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to be prepared with the details and the ongoing Wuhan virus pandemic, so that they could rebut any false claims made by the Opposition. In addition he also asked the ministers to ensure all the Central welfare schemes of different ministries are being run smoothly across India. He also urged the ministers to promote the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) related protocol emphatically.

Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla assured all the arrangements for the upcoming Monsoon Parliament Session, starting from the 19th of July.

In addition, the Lok Sabha Speaker said, the secretariat employees had been vaccinated and 445 members had got themselves inoculated separately. Speaking of the Rajya Sabha members, 218 people took the COVID-19 vaccines. Mr. Om Birla said, “The remaining members and employees will soon be vaccinated. We are constantly trying to increase the productivity of parliament. Even in the last session, we tried to do COVID-19 tests of members. We also insisted that the members get vaccinated. Thankfully the COVID-19 infections are reducing. But, we need to take precautions (sic.)”

The timing of the sessions of both the houses would be usual, starting from 11:00 A.M., till 6:00 P.M., including zero hour for questions and doubts. The Rajya Sabha timings are between 11:00 A.M., to 2:00 P.M., whereas Lok Sabha proceedings are from 4:00 P.M.

It is to be noted, from the previous Parliament session, 40 bills and 5 ordinance are yet pending, which is likely to be tabled in this session.
