The New Delhi Municipal Corporation civic body is going for elections on April 23rd for which the results will be declared on April 26th. This election will hold a mirror to the fate of Aam Aadmi Party in the state.

Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has been ruling Delhi since 2015, but in the last fortnight has lost Rajouri Garden’s bypolls. These elections are hence an issue of pride for the party as the party looks forward to ruling the third consecutive term. While Congress expects to gain the lost glory in capital, the AAP experienced a severe jolt when the former chief Arvinder Singh Lovely joined
BJP ahead of civic body elections.

The civic body elections were always a dual contest between Congress and BJP, now with the entry of AAP, it turned to a huge competition. Also participating in these elections are new party Swaraj India members Yogendra Yadav and Prashanth Bhushan. Amit Shah, the BJP national President of the party will be participating in the elections. For this, he will be campaigning in Dwaraka of Southwest Delhi. Ravi Kishan, the Bhojpuri Actor will be seen campaigning alongside Mr. Shah.

All the campaigning for 272 wards of three municipal corporation elections will end on April 21. The elections will be held on April 23rd and result for these will be declared on 26th. This civic body election for the first time has NOTA or None Of The Above option, which will give rights to the voter to not select any contesting member.
