On the first day of the fifth Global Conference on Cyberspace (GCCS,) PM Modi launched the UMANG app. The Unified Mobile Application for New Age Governance (UMANG) app is a platform for digital access to multiple Government services.
The application will be available for free on the Apple Store and Google Play Store. The app can be used for queries on PAN, NPS (National Pension System,) PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna,) AICTE, CBSE, Passport Seva and more.
As new services are introduced they will automatically be included in the app. All the information saved on the application will be saved in an encrypted format.
The home page of UMANG shows the recently viewed services, the new services, and the recently updated services. A trending services column and top rated service column will also be on the homepage.
The app allows you to mark your favorite services which will be under the Favourite column on the home page. The services cover both Central and State Government services. To register to the app the user must either enter his/her mobile number or link their Aadhaar card to the app.
