Amid the Wuhan virus pandemic, India is celebrating the 75th Republic Day celebration at Red Fort.  However, the event has been organised as per the Wuhan virus protocols and extra precautions to ensure the safety of the people and dignitaries attending the event this year.

Due to the Wuhan virus pandemic, no chief guests from different countries have been invited.

Meanwhile, wearing masks and maintaining social distance strictly have been made mandatory.  In addition, the Delhi policemen have advised visitors to use carpool or taxi services, and carry valid identity cards for their verification.  The Delhi Police’s guidelines mention that the seating blocks would be opened for visitors at 7:00 A.M.

Furthermore, there would be a provision for depositing remote controlled car lock keys in each parking area, said the Delhi Police.  It is to be noted, for the event, the Delhi Police Commissioner Mr. Rakesh Asthana said that over 27,000 police personnel have been deployed for security duties in the national capital and anti-terror measures intensified in view of the Republic Day celebrations.

On Republic Day security arrangements, there would be 27,723 Delhi Police personnel including 71 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs,) 213 Additional Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and 753 inspectors deployed in the capital for the parade.  They are being assisted by 65 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs.)

The Republic Day at Rajpath would begin at 10:30 A.M., on the 26th of January, Wednesday.
