PM Modi and Netanyahu’s Roadshow In Ahmedabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ahmedabad today for a roadshow along with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu. The two leaders will conduct an eight kilometer roadshow. In an open top vehicle, the leaders will travel from the airport to the Sabarmati Ashram. It is expected that more than 50,000 people will stand on the route the two leaders use. The Government has set up tight security for the event along with Israeli snipers for protection.

The Gujarat Police reported that the traffic will be blocked along the route from 7 A.M. to noon. The security deployed will be 12 teams of Chetak Commandos, Quick Response Teams, Bomb Detections and Disposal Squad and the Police Guarding Venues. Special Squads have been deployed on high rise building along the route. The Squad will also be sent to speedboats on the Sabarmati river when the leaders visit the Ashram.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will be in Gujarat for seven hours before returning to Mumbai. A statement released by PM Modi’s office said, “The city of Ahmedabad will greet Mrs. and Mr. Netanyahu with a reception, as they proceed to Sabarmati Ashram from Ahmedabad Airport.”

After the roadshow, the two leaders will inaugurate the iCreate Center at Deo Dholera Village in Ahmedabad. They will then go on to visit the Center of Excellence for Agriculture established by Israel in Sabarkantha.

Mr. Netanyahu has brought a gift for PM Modi, the Gal Mobile Water Desalination and Purification Jeep. The jeep will be given to a small village located on a hill 10 Km from Rann of Kutch. PM Modi had visited Israel last year where he rode the mobile unit with Netanyahu. The mobile unit is capable of purifying 20,000 liters of seawater each day.

Benjamin Netanyahu along with his wife Sara arrived in India on Sunday for a six day tour. On Thursday. Netanyahu will open a memorial for the victims of 26/11 in Mumbai at the Chabad House. Eleven year old Moshe Holtzman, the boy who tragically lost his parents in the attack will also be present at the ceremony.
