On the 8th of October 2021, India is celebrating 89th Indian Air Force Day.
Established in 1932 under the British Empire, the Indian Air Force was also known as the Bharatiya Vayu Sena and started its first operational regiment in April 1933. The day is celebrated in India to recognize the significance and importance of the Indian Air Force, playing a vital role in strengthening the national security of India.
Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, extended greetings on Air Force Day.
On Friday, Mr. Narendra Modi took to Twitter and posted a tweet, which read, “Greetings to our air warriors and their families on Air Force Day.” He further said, “The Indian Air Force is synonymous with courage, diligence and professionalism. They have distinguished themselves in defending the country and through their humanitarian spirit in times of challenges.”
Besides Mr. Narendra Modi, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, Mr. Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minister of India, Mr. J.P. Nadda, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister and Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC) extended greetings on the National Air Force Day.
In addition, Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, Civil Aviation Ministry and other political leaders also extended greetings on the Air Force Day.
