The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to chair an all party meeting on the 30th of January.
Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, on the 20th of January said Mr. Modi would chair the all party meeting. During the meeting, the Central Government would put forth the Legislative Budget agenda for 2021-2022.
Mr. Joshi said the meeting would be held virtually and an invitation has been extended to floor leaders of all political parties.
Mr. Joshi said, “The all-party meeting will be held on January 30, where Government will put forth its legislative business for the Parliament session and would also listen to the opposition’s suggestions.”
According to sources, an all party meeting is a customary procedure before the beginning of every session of Parliament. The meeting is held with the leaders of all parties to ensure smooth functioning of the Parliament session.
This time, the all party meeting would be held a day after the Parliament session begin. Unlike every year, the all party meeting this year would be held virtually in the wake of the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus.
The Parliament will sit in two shifts with Rajya Sabha in the morning and Lok Sabha in the evening.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would present the Union Budget 2021-2022 on the 1st of February.
The Budget session of Parliament is starting from the 29th of January. The Session would be held in two parts, from the 29th of January till the 15th of February and the second part from the 8th of March to the 8th of April.
