PM Modi Visits Puducherry And Tamil Nadu For Development Projects 

On the 25th of February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Puducherry and Tamil Nadu. 

On Thursday morning, Mr. Modi left for Puducherry and Tamil Nadu, to lay the foundation stone for several development projects.  His visit to poll bound Puducherry and Tamil Nadu was confirmed by his Tweet today morning.

On the 25th of February, Mr. Modi took to his official Twitter handle and said, “Leaving for Puducherry and Tamil Nadu to inaugurate development works that will further ‘Ease of Living’ and economic growth.”

According to sources, Mr. Modi’s day is completely occupied with several foundation events for new projects.  At around 11:30 A.M., Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Puducherry and inaugurated various development initiatives. Some of the initiatives include:

A Minor Port at Puducherry under Sagarmala Scheme, the Blood Centre at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER,) Sports Authority of India (SAI) Girls Hostel at Lawspet and other works. 

Later, around 4:00 P.M., Mr. Modi would visit Tamil Nadu and would launch development projects.

In regard to Mr. Modi’s visit, the Education Department announced a holiday for government and private schools.  This would reduce the traffic in the City.

Mr. Modi’s visit came at a time when the Puducherry Union Territory is under the President’s rule due to the collapsed Government of the Indian National Congress.  Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also campaigning for the upcoming Puducherry Assembly polls in an active mode to ensure its victory. 

The Puducherry and Tamil Nadu elections are due in 2021 May.
