Mr. Narendra Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) completed nine years of their government.
After winning the 2014 General elections, the BJP formed the Central Government for a second term in 2019. With these two consecutive terms, Mr. Narendra Modi held the chair of Prime Minister for nine years now.
Under the BJP Government, India has seen an increased engagement and prominence on the global stage. The leadership of Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, has proved to be a path of growth for India, as it witnessed many industries, global relations, central projects and other developments.
With the massive growth, the underdevelopment India has gained a huge reputation amongst its international counterpart nations, including Russia, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and other nations.
During his tenure, Mr. Narendra Modi has time and again engaged in improving bilateral relations with various countries. Since his first foreign visit to Bhutan in June 2014, he has embarked on numerous diplomatic trips, which has also helped him establish personal relationships with world leaders.
The greatest strength and establishment as a global leader came after the world was hit by the Wuhan Virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Under the leadership of PM Modi, India became the first nation to come up with a cure, vaccine against the Wuhan Virus infection.
under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India also actively participated in multilateral forums such as the United Nations (UN,) G20 (Group of 20,) BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa,) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and has emphasized on addressing global issues like terrorism and climate change. He has also prioritized India’s relations with neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Maldives, Nepal, and Bhutan and played an active role in regional forums such as the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC.)
However, under the nine year rule of the BJP and PM Narendra Modi also had certain missed and wrong decisions, which was termed as a major collapse for the nation and its citizens.
Some of the major regions where the Government of India under the BJP leadership failed was in terms of the education sector, as the expenditure in this region, said to be low. In addition, the three farm laws were also a big failure of the BJP Government, which created a ruckus and days of protest by farmers in India.
Another major problem and trouble for Indians was 2016 demonetization, as many claimed it to be a major setback for the Indian economy.
The rising prices of petrol and diesel in India was also a question on the strategies of the BJP Government.
